Electrotherapy
Electrotherapy
Higher Efficiency, faster treatment times and better outcomes.
- Interferential: Interferential current (IFC) therapy, a medium frequency alternating current therapy that reportedly reduces skin impedance, can reach deeper tissues. IFC therapy can provide several different treatment possibilities by adjusting its parameters. IFC therapy shows significant analgesic effects in patients with neck pain, low back pain, knee osteoarthritis and post-operative knee pain.
- Electrical muscle stimulation: stimulates a muscle contraction using electrical impulses in order strengthen weak muscles, reduce swelling, relieve pain and help heal wounds.
- Ultrasound: Ultrasound at higher intensities creates a deep heat. This heat may help to ease muscle spasms, relax and warm muscles, and increase muscle elasticity. Ultrasound may also act on the cells to promote healing. At lower intensities, ultrasound can have this healing effect without also heating the tissues.
